This site's aim was to take the client (and it's customers) into the new century. With an aging clientele, there couldn't be too much technology that was forced. In an attempt to satisfy the older farmers as well as the new generation, much thought was given to the content of this site. Most of the information is static, although greatly expanded from the previous site; however, there is a client portal which will provide access to a paperless transaction of tax filing if the customers so desire. With the mandate of e-filing, the client was comfortable moving in this direction, and providing a hint to the younger clientele of their advancements - there is a newsletter, links to interactive forms, and online calculators for those more inclined to use the online world.

At this point, the client feels that social media would alienate their customers rather than embrace them. As a segue to a more social media driven site, there has been discussion of a farmer's blog which focuses on the retiring farmer - we'll see if this comes to fruition. In the interim, this site is a leap for the client; but, hopefully still a safe haven for their customers.

It was developed independently to serve as an overly to a CPA site which will provide much of the IRS updates for the client at a very reasonable fee. It should also be noted that this client has decided to hire me to provide site updates as needed, so that such a large content shift won't be needed in the future.
